About Danielle
I'm Danielle, the gardener behind Right Rose, Right Spot. My love of roses started with my mum, who taught me that the best gardens are the ones that make you stop and breathe.

How it began
My mum grew roses the old-fashioned way: with patience, good compost, and a belief that every plant has its perfect place. As a child I followed her around the garden, memorising the names of the scented ones and pretending each bloom had its own personality. That curiosity never left me.
Over the years I built my own garden — one that celebrates different varieties, old and new, and especially the ones that reward you with perfume. Some roses are shy, some are show-offs, but when you match the right rose to the right spot, the whole garden feels effortless.
Climate first
Australian conditions vary wildly. A rose that thrives in subtropical Queensland will sulk in cool Tasmania. I filter every recommendation by your real climate zone.
Scent matters
Perfume is non-negotiable in my garden. I keep a special eye on varieties that fill the air — from old-world damask to modern tea.
Right spot, right rose
Sun, space and purpose matter. A hedge rose is not a cut-flower rose. A climber needs a different home to a compact patio variety.
